Our stay at Fairfield by Marriott in Cumberland, MD was a very enjoyable experience. Despite the rainy weather which hotel staff could not control (lol), they served us with professional and courtesy. Highly recommended.
I booked a stay here for my cycling group on our trip from Pittsburgh to DC along the GAP and C&O. Katie in sales was so very helpful. Thanks Katie! The hotel is very clean, comfortable beds, friendly service, and they have a laundry setup to wash all your dirty cycling gear! It is walking distance downtown and to restaurants. Highly recommended for a cycling overnight stop.
Location provided easy access to the Western MD Scenic Railroad (the reason for our stay). The rooms were clean, the pool was clean (hot tub was closed on our visit), the hotel felt safe, and all staff was extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast was your standard hotel breakfast (not the most delicious but suitable). Be prepared that the traffic patterns are.....weird, but otherwise our stay here was great!
Common areas are great and staff are professional. Best breakfast selections we have experienced while traveling and the breakfast area is maintained exceptionally well. Hotel is located right on the C&O trail so very convenient for bike riders. Our king room though was rather small and cramped. Room rates are high.

It was dark, it was rainy, and I did not have reservations and it was Thanksgiving eve. They had a room. They took very good care of me and my room was very clean. Charlene was my room attendee, and she provided an immaculate room.
We love this hotel, especially at Christmas for the Polar Express! Walking distance to the train, right next to a brewery, good breakfast and a warm pool! This hotel has little extra touches (like a hot cocoa station) that makes it the best Fairfield we have stayed at. Highly recommend!
Whoever trains their staff needs to train staff for every customer facing position everywhere! Every staff member greeted us when we saw them and were so kind and helpful. Conveniently located next to the Polar Express the hotel goes above and beyond by having a hot chocolate bar and PE themed goodie bags for the kids.
